About Madhya Pradesh Vidhansabha
Vindhya Pradesh was formed on 4th April, 1948 and was given the status of 'B' category state. Its Raj Pramukh was Shri Martand Singh. In 1950, this state was reduced from "B" to "C" category. In the general election of 1952, 60 members were elected to the Legislative Assembly here, which was headed by Shri Sivanand. From March 1, 1952, this state was made a Lieutenant Governor's territory. Pt. Shambhunath Shukla became its Chief Minister. The first meeting of the Vindhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly was held on 21st April, 1952. Its tenure lasted about four and a half years and about 170 meetings were held. Shri Shyam Sundar 'Shyam' was the Deputy Speaker of this Legislative Assembly.
